Travel Back in Time: February 12, 2019

***Over the next few days, I am backfilling these older posts from earlier in the year in order to get caught up to the present. This was originally published on February 12, 2024***

This week, we travel back in time to a snowy  night in February at Thunder Road for the third Neighbor show of the Thunder Road Residency, taking place 5 years ago today featuring Ricky, Lyle, Zack Burwick (on bass and overalls), and Mike Miksis.

Memorable moments from this show included the first addition of “like Marty McFly” to a tight Stranger Part of Town, a check in on the Celtics score (they won), Jimmy Buffett’s Spanish Moon, and lots of second set banter with some special requests.

Don’t miss the many rarities, including On Your Way Down (1 of 14), Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley (1 of 3 after this weekend), All Apologies (1 of 12), Celtics of Swing (1 of 10), Jealous Guy (1 of 3), Under Pressure (1 of 1), Such a Night (1 of 2), and Ophelia (1 of 4).

Notable jams include a HUGE Somerville Shuffle->Move Along Little Jimmy, a funkalicious Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley, and a very intimate All Apologies.

Debuts included White Flag as an original debut and Sneakin’ Sally Through the Alley (Allen Toussaint), All Apologies (Nirvana), Under Pressure (Queen), and Such a Night (Dr. John) as covers.
